Ever since this growth spurt over the weekend our son seems starving. Last night he had 3 bottles for his nighttime feedings that were each 6 ounces which is a lot for him. He's still been very fussy and irritable. Since he's eating so much he's filling his diapers with pee every 2 hours and they are soaked! Our doctor wants us to start FJ on rice or oatmeal cereal a few weeks before his 4 month visit which is at the beginning of February. We decided to start him on what the rice cereal box classifies as a "baby's first feeding." For his dinner feeding we gave him 1 tbsp. of rice to 4-5 tbsp. of formula. Even though it was soupy we put it in a bowl and had him eat it from a spoon. It was hilarious! He was having a ball tasting it, spitting most of it out, and the fact that we thought it was so funny was making him laugh. He was too cute! I'm not sure exactly how much he actually got in so we followed up with a bottle but whatever it did it sure worked up another bowel movement! He had one last night and then during his feeding tonight. That too is hilarious because he is so vocal with all the grunting. I've heard that the rice cereal is more filling and it causes most kids to sleep longer from it. I just hope I didn't give it too early because it's only 7 and he's asleep already. Rice cereal plus a bowel movement = one tired kid. LOL! Can you tell I'm having so much fun being a mom? I love it and never could have imagined how much I could love the little man.
