Nutritional Supplementation Part 3 - Drs. G & M Pearsall

by Drs. Gurney & Marina Pearsall 21. June 2011 16:00

Over the counter (OTC) supplements are laced with toxins. The FDA labels OTC supplements as “food,” so there is no quality control over them. Excessive amounts of lead, aluminum and other toxins have been found in many supplements. Fish oil supplements are especially dangerous due to their high concentrations of PCB and mercury, both of which are natural to fish.

For quality and for our patient’s safety, our supplements are made in a GMP and an ISO 9001:2000 registered facility and comply with Good Manufacturing Practices. Every batch of Longevity Centre’s supplements is tested by an accredited third-party laboratory to validate its purity and safety, which includes testing for PCB content. PCB amounts are measured down to 0.01 mg/kg and are consistently found to be undetectable. This amount is equivalent to less than 10 nanograms, which is well below the California proposition 65 limit for 90 nanograms. It is also significantly lower than the FDA’s tolerance level for PCBs in fish of 2,000 nanograms.  Make sure your supplement provider adheres to the same standards.
